Ben Wood

Ben was a student at South Craven from 1991 to 1998. He has gone on to achieve a world record in running and cycling from Land’s End to John O’Groates, which he completed in 6 days, 16 hours and 24 minutes.

Clare Adley

After leaving South Craven in 2006, Clare studied Performing Arts at the University of Chichester. She then returned to complete her teacher training at SCS, where she now works as the Head of the Performance Faculty.

Emily Yates

Emily has seized every opportunity that has come her way. After leaving South Craven in 2010 she volunteered at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, where Lord Sebastian Coe quoted her phrase ‘lifted the cloud of limitation’ in his closing ceremony speech. She has since written an accessible travel guide for the 2016 Games in Rio and made a documentary for BBC3.

James Figg

Since leaving South Craven School in 2013, James progressed to the University of Exeter’s Camborne School of Mines to study Bioengineering, where he has learned how to sustainably extract metals and minerals and design mines. James spent his placement year at a coal mining company in Indonesia.

Malcolm Birks

Malcolm studied at South Craven School from 1986 to 1993. After leaving SCS he went on to study at Cambridge University, where he trained as an architect.
